With the new Maxwell & Williams Marblesque collection in hand and a bank of inspiration under her belt, we asked the lovely Lisa Hamilton for her top tips to host a summer get-together to remember.

As the weather warms up, I can’t help but get excited about having friends over to wine and dine. When it comes to entertaining, I like to keep it casual but also considered. Simple things like serving starters and mains on a bench or bar-cart close to the dining area is a great way to give the table more space for styling. Simple elements like fresh fruits and flowers from your local market add personality to the event, without costing a fortune.
Once I’m happy with the setting ahead of my friends arriving, I shift my focus to the food and the mood!
Feeling the fresh mint and white vibes of Marblesque, I opted for fresh salads and colourful share plates for a relaxed lunch with the girls. Crowd-pleasing mains such as simple summer pastas and recipes I’ve made before are always a go-to for me so I can relax into the afternoon and not take the food prep too seriously.
While I’m cooking, I usually throw in some up-beat, yet chill tunes (think Frank Ocean or John Legend).
As the girls arrive we start with some chilled rosé and stay hydrated through the afternoon with plenty of fruit-infused sparkling water.
After a long lunch I like to bring out some old-school board games and overflowing platters of cheese, fruit and dark chocolate as the evening rolls on... now that’s an easy recipe for a delightful summer gathering!
