Mexican Hot Chocolate with Lumi
There isn’t much better than a warm mug of decadent hot chocolate on a cold day. Embrace the cosiness of winter with this hug in a mug!
Add a little spice to the perennial winter favourite with this delicious Mexican hot chocolate recipe. It’s an indulgent mix of milk chocolate and cinnamon with chilli flakes for that extra kick!
Prep time: 15 mins
3 cups whole milk
3 tbsp crushed cinnamon sticks
1 cup of finely chopped milk chocolate
3 tbsp of granulated sugar
¾ tsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp of chilli flakes
- Place milk and cinnamon into a medium saucepan and simmer on a medium-low heat, whisking occasionally for about 10 minutes until the cinnamon sticks are fragrant.
- Whisk in the chocolate, sugar and vanilla until chocolate has melted and texture is smooth.
- Strain the liquid and divide evenly in our Lumi snug mugs.
- Top with chilli flakes, marshmallows and an extra sprinkle of grated chocolate.
